Bendigo Health recently endorsed an Aboriginal Employment Plan 2024-2028 with the aim to increase employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and improve cultural safety within Bendigo Health.

Bendigo Health utilises the special measures within the Equal Employment Act to increase employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians and encourages those who identify to apply.

Aboriginal Mental Health Trainee Positions

Bendigo Health is proudly supporting one Aboriginal Mental Health trainee positions in 2025. 

The state government funded Aboriginal Mental Health Traineeship Program is designed to increase the number of Indigenous mental health practitioners in healthcare system. 

Trainees will undertake a three-year program that combines clinical placements with tertiary mental health studies.

Aboriginal Cadetship - Women's Ward and Birth Suite

Bendigo Health is proudly supporting one Aboriginal Cadetship position within our Womens Ward and Birth Suite department.

This government funded program is designed to increase recruitment and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers through the provision of paid experience within a clinical health setting, for tertiary education students.
