Health Professional Placements

Bendigo Health is committed to the education of other learners from across our region. This is part of our continuing service and part of our regional leadership role.

There are two types of clinical learning experiences available to individuals wishing to undertake a placement within our health services:

Interventional Placement: Involves a practical learning experience that includes supervised interventions by the learner with Bendigo Health patients, residents or clients.

Observational Placements: Involves the observation of practice without any intervention by the learner with Bendigo Health patients, families or residents. This may involve the observation of Bendigo Health staff members interacting with Bendigo Health patients, families or residents, or review of medical records.

To ensure sufficient preparation for all parties, a completed ‘Clinical Learner and Placement Application Form (individual)’ must be submitted to Learning, Education and Development no later than 6 weeks prior to the requested start date. Due to credentialing requirements, some types of learners may only attend for observational placements. All learning experiences will require a placement agreement with Bendigo Health prior to commencement. The type of placement agreement is dependent on the reason for the placement.
