Loddon Mallee Public Health Unit

The LMPHU works to keep our regional community healthy, safe and well. We use local knowledge, community-based relationships and direct engagement to effectively tailor and deliver public health initiatives and respond to incidents and issues within the Loddon-Mallee region.

The Loddon Mallee Public Health Unit (LMPHU) was established in August 2020 under the direction of the Department of Health in response to the impact of the COVID pandemic in our region.

Directly responsible for the public health response across the Mallee, Murray and Loddon, the LMPHU covers the nine Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Buloke, Campaspe, Gannawarra, Greater Bendigo, Loddon, Macedon Ranges, Mildura, Mount Alexander and Swan Hill.

Working with the Department of Health and various local partners, the unit’s aim is to create a better quality of life for all through the prevention and management of disease.
