The Bendigo Health Research Report 2021-22 highlights the vibrant research culture at Bendigo Health.
The report showcases the breadth of research and innovation undertaken by our passionate clinicians and staff. This year, the report also includes a list of articles published by Bendigo Health researchers, clearly demonstrating the quality of the research being conducted across our organisation, not just the quantity.
In yet another year full of disruption, we have continued to grow our research maturity and footprint. It has been a year of challenges, with the COVID pandemic and climate impacts such as flooding negatively impacting our rural and regional communities. It has also been a year of opportunities and this report demonstrates some of the ways in which we have seized these opportunities, such as the increase in COVID related research.
This report clearly demonstrates the passion and agility of our researchers in responding to changing health and medical research priorities, and in ensuring our rural and regional communities have a voice in finding evidence based solutions to their health care needs.

The aim of the Bendigo Health Research Plan 2022-2025 is to establish a best practice model for health and medical research in rural and regional populations.
The plan reflects government strategic directions, builds on our current strengths and responds to emerging opportunities. It also outlines an operational model to help address our weaknesses and threats.
Development of the plan included careful consideration of the external research environment to ensure it reflects and progresses both federal and state strategic research directions.
