Community Mental Health Services

Community Mental Health Services treat and support people experiencing mental illness within their community.

Community based care means treating people in their homes rather than in hospital by providing a range of support that aims to meet the needs of the person experiencing mental illness.

This care is achieved through: Regular visits by a lead clinician who can help coordinate treatment and care, having regular reviews by a treating team, being linked into other supports in the community, having access to hospital support if required and having options of being linked into group programs within the community.

While most community services are located in Bendigo, services are also located within rural areas. The following are our community area mental health clinics:

Adult Community Mental Health Service

Rural North Adult Service - Swan Hill, Echuca areas.
Rural South Adult Service - Castlemaine, Kyneton and Maryborough areas.
